Join Crash Dance Productions for 4 days of contemporary dance technique, improvisation, and repertory at the Cowles Center in downtown Minneapolis. Participants will work alongside teaching artists from the company to learn pieces from Crash’s repertory, culminating in a showing for friends and family at the JSB TekBox.
We are pleased to offer advanced and pre-professional 4-day intensives, and an all ages/levels 1-day intensive:
Advanced is recommended for preteen and teen dancers, or any dancer with previous dance training. Dancers will have daily warm up, followed by repertory.
Pre-professional is recommended for teens and adults, or any dancer with a strong contemporary dance background. Dancers will have daily contemporary class (warm up, technique and improvisation), followed by repertory. Pre-professional dancers interested in taking class only (no participation in intensive showing) can drop-in on a daily basis. Drop-ins can pre-register online, or pay at the door.
All-levels improvisation is a one-day workshop for dancers of all ages, who would like to deepen their understanding of contemporary dance principles through improvisational exercises. Dancers will have warm up, followed by a series of improvisational work that challenges, put together in a structured improvisational piece to be performed at the showing. The improvisation workshop can be taken alone, or as an add-on to the Advanced or Pre-professional intensive.
